Chronicle Christmas Fair, Saturday 15th December…that’s tomorrow!

It’s the Chronicle Christmas Market tomorrow, Saturday 15th December, and although we’re expecting some less than hospitable weather, we’re hoping you’ll come and have a look around at the lovely crafts, sample the delicious local foodstuffs and enjoy the festive atmosphere! We’re there from 9am-6pm, so do take a moment from the high street madness to pay us a visit! I shall be there with my sweet little friends, who are all looking for brand new homes for Christmas!

Christmas Making and a Peek at My New Felt Swans

I’ve been busy making some new goodies that I’m going to be taking to next week’s Christmas Fair at Shrewsbury High School (this year on the prep school site, Old Roman Road, 5pm-8pm on Friday 24th November). I can’t quite believe that we’re here again, that Christmas is just weeks away! It’s unbelievable. Anyway, here’s a quick peek at my new felt swan decorations. Available in white, pink and blue, these are entirely sewn by hand, with pretty beads, white netting and hand cut gold crowns. They have proved rather time-consuming, but are really quite nice to make. I always enjoy a break from the sewing machine to get back to some old-fashioned hand sewing. Here’s a pic! I’ll also shortly be listing some of these in my Etsy and Folksy online shops. Adieu for now!

Made in Shropshire Saturday 13th February….Valentine’s Fair

Don’t let the cold snap put you off our lovely fair tomorrow, in the main Square in Shrewsbury town centre…..9am-5pm. I have new things to show you, including little plush elephants now in the softest cuddly plush, in pastel shades just perfect for spring; opal mint, lavender and cucumber….They look adorable and feel just amazing. Some nods towards Valentine’s Day, including cards and hearts and ideas for Easter and Mother’s Day too. So if you’re about, then do come and see!

To get you in the romantic mood, here’s a vintage fabric elephant – in pink. Happy Valentine’s!

Made in Shropshire – a 10th Birthday Milestone!

The Made in Shropshire group formed 10 years ago, in 2005, initially the idea of and a collaboration between Shropshire Rural Hub and WIRE – Women in Rural Enterprise. Ten years on and the group is still going strong, with many new faces having joined to showcase their making talents and wonderful products, alongside a few original members (of which I am ALMOST one, having joined a month or so after the group formed. I can’t believe it’s that long. I’m sure I don’t look a day older).

To celebrate there’ll be a few special touches to tomorrow’s Fair in the Square in Shrewsbury town centre, and even the Mayor is coming down to have a look around and sample some of the celebration cake! (Served on a specially commissioned ‘Pots and Dots’ plate). There’ll be balloons a-flying and cupcakes to share, by Lynne Morgan of Baked for You; though I’m loyal to my favourite nibble and will be starting with one of her glorious shortbreads with my first coffee of the morning.

So if you’re around tomorrow and can come along, then do! It’s 9am-5pm, as normal and the sun will be coming out to celebrate too, I’m absolutely confident! I have bought some delightful new fabrics and have made some cute bits and pieces with it – it’s nice to have something new and fresh each month – and would love to see you!

Made in Shropshire Fair in the Square, Saturday 8th August

IMG-20150613-05289 (497x640)A quick post to remind you that it’s Made in Shropshire arts and food market this Saturday, 8th August. It’s the usual time and place – from 9am-5pm in the main Square in Shrewsbury town centre. I have some new goodies and will also be running a little summer sale, so I hope to see you there!

At last…I’m doing a market! Made in Shropshire, Saturday 13th June….

It’s been a long time since my last post.  In fact, this is my first of the year. Sometimes life gets in the way. It’s been getting in my way, but now I’m back on track and getting down to it again. Another first of the year, for me, is this Saturday’s Made in Shropshire market in Shrewsbury town square. I have some lovely new goodies to share with you, so it would be fabulous to see you there! As per, it runs from 9am-5pm. It’s also Carnival day, so remember that the town centre is closed to traffic between 1.30 and 3.30pm, while the parade passes through. So come in early, or go home later!

I’m going to post some pictures tomorrow, so come back and take a sneak peek! I’m looking forward to Saturday….I’ve missed my days in the square and hope to see you there!
